insane_firedancer's journal entry #5; "Belated V-Day" on 2005-02-19:
Previous
Well, the real V-day pretty much sucked. I worked all day at Target....MAN you should have seen how many guys were rushing in an hour before close, going to the jewlery boat to get jewlery for their significant others. Losers.
Other than work, Chris got his car broken into. They stole his stereo, and his sun glasses. It also so happened his favorite cd player was in the CD player at the time.

SO. Our Valentines day was postponed. Chris and I drove to San Diego and spent the night and the following day there. It was very nice.

The first night-since we arrived at six, was just for kicking back. We chilled at the hotel, which we found out was hosting a bunch of hockey players for a big tournament. (We were in the pool with the team from Alaska, which was how we found out)

The next day (today as it were) we went to Balboa park, which contains the San Diego Zoo and many many museums. Due to winter hours we sadly did not go to the Zoo. A large dissapoint for me, but the zoo is huge and needs a full day which the winter hours do not provide. We did go to the museum of Natural History, however, and among many things, saw a exhibit on the history of chocolate, which, naturally ended in a chocolate store. (which was, of course, over priced.)And I was,of course, by this time drooling and craving large large amounts of chocolatey goodness.

We then proceeded to go to the gaslamp disctrict for shopping and dinner. (We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe.) We wne to Hot Topic, which was having a ginormous clearance sale. I got a set of stationary, a necklace and a small bath set for $3.73, which, for any of you who shop at H.T may know, aint bad at all. We also, after seeing all that chocolate stoped, in at Ghiridelli's (and bought chocolate.) HArd Rock was very amusing and fun. Food was great. Souvenirs were over priced, and not so great. (was hoping for a cool shot glass-was dissapointed) All in all it was a good trip.
