So, yes, I am posting this comment right now from within Linux! I got "Linux for Dummies" (although I myself am not a dummy, but instead just wanted the Linux ISO-ridden DVD within the book.) On this DVD was an ISO for Xandros, of which I burned to a CD, then used this CD to re-partition my hard drive, and install Xandros, which fortunately has functional drivers for both my HCF modem (Broadxent, see an older journal entry), and my HP P-1000 printer. I am now just uber (with the little sideways colon above the "u") excited and happy!
