Web Journal!

Well, today I got to participate in the 4th of July parade in Sheboygan, walking for Lakeland College. I [got|had] to be dressed up as Musko, the lovable* muskellunge mascot for the college. It was nice and cool in the costume (breezy and in the shade) while we waited about half an hour to for our turn to join the parade. As the parade progressed, it got hotter and hotter in that costume. By the end, all I wanted was to get it off of me so that I could cool down a little.

Musko (the communications one and not the athletics one) was recently on a vacation to Canada to be repaired so that his mouth would stay open correctly, and to be cleaned and de-stinkified. After today, the sweaty odor returns to Musko.

As an aside, for the last few weeks, I've been working regularly (about every day or three) on my development site, and as a result, have been holding off on posting much of anything new on there because the more new news entries I post on the main site means that there are more things that have to get added to the database for the new version. Currently, all journal entries, news items, and such are stored in .txt files scattered about. Fortunately, a batch processing PHP script made short work of importing the data into the DB!

* Well, it scared one of the little girls who was walking along with us quite a bit, apparently.
