Web Journal!chris's journal entry #100; "Gaelic Storm" on 2007-02-14:Previous Next Well, as you may or may not know, Gaelic Storm appeared at Lakeland College (another link) on last Friday. I was lucky enough, and just barely early enough to snag a free ticket for myself a few weeks beforehand. So, the music is a variety of Irish/Celtic music, using a variety of interesting instruments. It was really good, and I think everyone attending (sold out, by the way) also enjoyed the event. People were clapping along with the music, nodding their heads and/or swaying with the rythm, and some were even dancing energetically in the front row. It was fun, both to hear the music and see their performance, as well as to hear the band's horror stories of traveling around the country in their unreliable vehicle of transport. Afterwards, I purchased one of their CDs (Bring Yer Wellies), and had it autographed by the band members as well as one of the programs that I got for attending. This was the band's third appearance at Lakeland, their previous being just before I enrolled, and if you want to catch them, go to Irish Fest in Milwaukee, or to the Weidner Center in Green Bay soon.
