News item #23; "This Just in: Bobm Threat Updates" on 03/16/04:
Previous Next
Well, today we recieved a paper explaining in great detail the bobm threat that occurred on Friday. The exact letter is as follows:

March 15, 2004

Dear Parents:

As you may have already heard, a threatening situation occurred at the high school on Friday, March 12, 2004. Specifically there was a threatening letter that came out of a printer in a classroom indicating there was a bomb in the building.

The high school principal, the assistant principal, and the police liaison officer quickly discussed the problem and decided to evacuate the student body to the high school gymnasium after first searching the gym and locker room areas. With the help of the City of Kiel Fire and Police Departments we then conducted a search of the entire high school and found no suspicious items.

The incident is now under investigation by the City of Kiel police and the high school administration.

We are confident that the Kiel High School is a safe and secure place for children and staff. We will continue to monitor all threats to the safety of children, staff, and facilities and act accordingly. This is a message you need to share with your child. We can’t allow our children to become fearful about being in school.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call at any time.

Sincerely,

[signature]

Joe Pomrening
Principal
Kiel High School
