Web Journal!

I have just found a "new" job. I will become the Coordinator of Interactive Communications at Lakeland College. This job will essentially be the same as what I am already doing at Lakeland, just doing it full-time instead of as a student worker position. We are planning to re-write the entire website codebase as more of a CMS, and will be using PHP instead of ASP. This is a daunting task, and is quite ambitious. Unlike the current version of the site, everything will be planned ahead of time, and will be better documented. This will hopefully lead to a saner website with fewer things being cobbled together at random. By switching to PHP/Linux, hopefully we can save some money too. We may be switching to an external hosting provider instead of doing it in-house, but this is still in the air. I'm quite anxious about switching to a full-time job, especially since there are so many things that will need to be re-created from scratch.
